What We Believe
All Holy Scripture is inspired and is materially sufficient for
matters of faith and morals (2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:20-21; Matt
5:18; 1 Cor 2:13, 14:37).
There is one God: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19,
2 Cor 13:14). The Father is God (1 Cor 8:6), the Son is God (Isa
9:6; John 1:1,14; Heb 1:8-10), and the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4;
Matt 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14).
Jesus Christ, of the lineage of King David, was born of the Virgin
Mary during the reign of Herod the Great (Rom 1:3; Isa 7:14; Matt
1:18-25, 2:1; Luke 1:26-38). Christ's miraculous ministry as Crown-Prince
of the Nation of Israel began with his baptism in the Jordan River
and climaxed at his celebrated coronation as the messianic ruler
over Israel (John 12:13; Matt 21:1-15, Mark 11:4-10). Upon issuing
a New Covenant for the nation (Matt 26:26-29), the King of Israel
was put to death by usurping rulers (Luke 24:20; Acts 3:13-15; 1
Thess 2:14-16; Matt 21:37-39), in accordance with the scriptures
(Acts 2:22-36; Acts 4:26-28). After three days, God the Almighty
restored Christ's throne, raising King Jesus bodily from the dead
(2 Tim 2:8; Acts 2:29-36; Acts 3:14-15; 1 Cor 15:4-7). Christ the
King was seen alive by hundreds of witnesses after his resurrection
and before his glorious ascension unto the throne of God the Father
(1 Cor 15:3-8; Acts 5:30-32, 10:40-41; 1 Pet 3:22; Matt 28; Mark
16; 1 Cor 15; Rom 1:4; Acts 2:30-36; Rev 12:5; Rev 3:21). As foretold,
Christ returned in judgment upon his enemies during Israel's great
tribulation of AD 67-70, culminating in the destruction of Jerusalem
and the Temple (Matt 21:37-45; 23:33-38; Luke 21:20-22; Luke 19:40-44;
Mark 13:1-31).
God has declared salvation through the life, death, and resurrection
of His Son (Rom 3:21-25: 1 Cor 15:3; Heb 9:22; Heb 10:9-18; Acts
10:43). God's Holy Nation is eternally covenanted under Christ Jesus
(1 Pet 2:9; Matt 21:43; Heb 8:6-13; 12:22-24; Heb 13:20), the divine
Potentate of the Kingdom of God (Matt 28:18; Matt 16:18-19; Rev
1:5; 1 Pet 3:22; Eph 1:20-23; Phil 2:7; Col 1:15-19; Acts 2:30-36;
1 Tim 1:17; 6:15; Dan 7:14,27; Isa 9:6-7; Luke 1:31-33).
God the Holy Spirit extends the New Covenant Kingdom (John 6:63;
14:16-17; 2 Cor 3:6-12; Heb 6:4-5; Matt 12:31-32) by demonstrating
His presence and power in the Church. His work is evidenced through
a diversity of means, from supernatural manifestations and the sacraments
to the reformation of men's consciences (Rom 12:4-21; 1 Cor 12-14;
Gal 5:16-26; John 15:26; 16:7-15; Acts 7:51). Citizens of the Kingdom
of God are led by--and filled with--God the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:16,25;
Mark 1:12; Matt 12:28; Luke 1:41,67; 2:25-27; 4:14, 18; 11:13; John
1:33; 3:5-8; 4:14/7:38-39; 14:14-17; Rom 8:9; 1 Pet 1:11; 1 Cor
12:13; 1 Thess 5:19; Rom 14:17).
Christ's mystical body is the Church, the pillar and ground of
truth and the Temple of God's glory, world without end (1 Tim 3:15;
John 2:19-22; Eph 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:9-11,20-21; 5:30-32; 2 Cor
6:16; 1 Cor 12:12-27; Heb 12:22-24). This holy people is commissioned
to heal the nations, establish righteousness, subdue kingdoms, and
dispense the wisdom of God forever (Rev 22:2; 2 Cor 5:18-20; Heb
11:33; Matt 5:13-16; 16:18-19; Eph 3:10-11,21).
Scripture teaches the eternal blessedness of the saved (John 4:14;
5:24; Eph 2:7) and the eternal punishment of the wicked (John 5:28-29;
Rev 20:10,15; Matt 25:41,46).
